My mind was just blown by a television show that I saw Abed watching called American Ninja Warrior.
If you aren't aware of American Ninja Warrior, it clarifies any confusion on why people in the 80's thought American Gladiators were so cool. Because they absolutely were!
What we have now is basically a Parkore style obstacle course.. Actually it's more like a BUNCH of obstacle courses. There all really insane body testing stuff. The mechanics of which is also very interesting, making it so very entertaining, to watch.
Some of the contestants paint themselves up in body paint, and all their family are there to see them compete in various rounds of impressive physical endurance, and for (you guessed it) a half a million dollar grand prize. Check out American Ninja Warrior on NBC.
I've only seen men competing so far, but I really hope they have a female in the competition soon. that would be super cool!
