Jersey Bore

Entertainment has become too foolish, for me to not write about it.
Maybe it can be attributed to our love of pushing boundaries and progressing, on some level, but we lost the wheels on that excuse 20 years ago.
I am sure someone wants to quote some stupid newspaper about Elvis being risque, and how we progress as a species, but we've allowed shows like Jersey Shore and Honey Boo Boo to get on television and experience wild success. That's not progress, and we should be ashamed of ourselves. This is the only post that makes me want to curse. Thinking about this gets me all "fired up" as a dbag on Big Brother Canada would say

I don't get what his problem is. Settle down Alberta. guys like you always leave BB half way through. They run out of steam and blow up on some mom/sensitive person. Fucks their whole game. So chill. it's not about ratings, Alberta.

This has to be said (and shared hint!hint!)

Jersey Shore
If you actually enjoy this show, you may have brain damage. If you relate to the characters, or the situations, or anything that anyone says on this "program", you may qualify as mentally retarded. Whats worse is people who enjoyed watching those poor, useless puppets, in a way that they think is ironic and clever.
Newsflash ya douche bag.
If you weren't threatened by people in your life, you wouldn't be so insecure to need to compare yourself to anyone else. You're dumber and worse off that the morons that enjoy the program. Because if you were as smart as you believe you are, you wouldn't have any need to look down your nose at anyone. So (Wo)man up and make the improvements that you need to be happy in your own life, you're not better than anyone and that attitude make you a loser.

Formspring Question #11

Formspring asks: What's the bravest thing you've ever done?

I usually have a hard time deciding if the things I'm doing are brave or just really stupid.
I guess the thing that comes to mind is staying in St. John's and living on my own after my ex and I broke up.
We had been together for 3 years. I moved to the city not knowing anyone, to live with him and be with him. naturally it all fell apart. But I stayed. I had to prove to myself that i could do it on my own.
For a long time i had 2 jobs. at times 3. But for the last 5 years I've lived on my own. in my own apartment. My bills are in my name, and i'm responsible for myself. Nobody can take that away from me. Bad things happen to everyone. Too many people think it justifies them to be bitter, and dwell on things. You can't depend on anyone in this world to pick you up. it's not their job. It's yours. Everyone is responsible for their own happiness. People who dwell on bad things, and fill themselves with hate, and insecurity, never learn to trust again, and that is nobodies fault but their own. Writing this post is another one of those things, that i can't decide between Brave or Stupid on. Thank you for your question, Please keep the conversation going at HundredThousandMistakes

The only part that still irks me is he got the Wii. We bought it together and I took the bed, so all's fair. I was just really close to finishing Paper Mario Wii when shit hit the fan...

Always Cherish The Cabin! (Formspring Question #12)

Formspring Asked: What's a secret skill that you have?

I grew up in a small town where dad and my male (and female) family members are hunters and outdoors people. I'm small and frail, and thus not built for such things. But i have been taught to shoot both guns and bows. I'm actually a pretty good shot. although it's been a few years since I've been around them.
My dad taught me to respect the large, potentially dangerous animals, that frequent our cabin property and the tools we use to hunt them. I used to be very afraid of guns. Now i understand that because I possess the knowledge to use them safely, I can view them as tools, not weapons. That being said, I grew up with hunting rifles and a standard fiberglass bow and arrow set. Dad also dulled my arrows until i was able to actually aim/hit a target. Far cry from the semiautomatic weapons that I agree should not be legal for private ownership.
Also, and this is completely not your questions, but rather where my train of thought took me, my dad is converting his cabin, to be completely light/wind powered. It's just a project for him. He's an old hippie who possesses a fascination for science and technology. I just see a self-sufficient cabin, kept safe by an iron gate, with an artisan well and food stocks for months. When the Zombie Apocalypse hits. You can find me there.

Formspring Question #10

Formspring asked,What are the last five books you read? Don't edit it to make yourself sound clever.

Thee Zombie Survival Guide, My Booky Wook (A story of Sex, Drugs and Stand Up, by Russell Brand) Game of Thrones book one and two. and the menu at my job...almost every day. if that counts

Formspring Question #9

Formspring Asked:
Is your room messy?

Yes. All of the time.

Formspring Question #8

Formspring asked:
Has your behaviour with the opposite sex led to situations which make you anxious?

No. but the behaviour of certain people (of both sexes) has certainly done its part to make me an anxious person. Lies, Deceit, and Mistreat all leave permanent scars on people. even if you cant see them. When you leave any kind of a scar on someone they never forget you. but not in a good way. The better someone gets to know you, the better they see you. It's up to you what kind of person you want to be. Nobody can hide who they really are for very long.

Formspring Question #7! What a week!

Solo1 Asks:

How do you handle it when you can't get any sleep? Is sleep a problem for you?

Sleeping has ALWAYS been a problem for me. Ever since I was a little girl, I could never ever fall asleep. I could never ever stay asleep and as a result, I have spent truckloads of money on eye treatments/products and caffeinated beverages. I have a large variety of allergies and sensitivities. So medications affect me a great deal....I'm your standard pale kid.

I find a white noise app on my phone really good for helping fall asleep though. As soon as I move out of downtown St. Johns, the staying asleep will get easier.
I also love going to sleep on a full stomach. I know it's so bad for me, but I do it all the time

Anyone else have some tips for people like Solo1 and Myself? How do you cope with your insomnia issues? Tell me at HundredThousandMistakes to remain anonymous or leave a comment right here!

Formspring Question #6

Solo1 says: This site is packed to the rafters with pointless bullshit and 14-year-old girls posting lyrics from stupid bands. Well done on not being one of those. "Getting offended about stupid things has got to be one of our societies biggest wastes of time".

wow. thank you so much. I've never been quoted before! haha Please feel free to ask anything on my blog, Hindsight. I get lots of negativity too. but that doesn't mean I can't try to make a difference.
I'm far from mediocre. so why should I settle for a mediocre world, that I do not want to be a part of? Thank you for your time. Positivity can prevail if we all chose to be active in making it! Why keep waiting for people to give us what we want, when we can make it for ourselves? - a.p.

The Motivation Proclamation

I'm on the cusp of completely improving my life, and I lack any and all motivation. What's wrong with me? Why doesn't how important it is, and how much I worry about it, force me to prepare for risk better. Ironic really. What are some ways that you find helpful for retaining information?

It's been a long time since I studied. Embarrassingly long. Writing this blog right now is more procrastination, and now I'm watching that Good Charlottle Video. My goodness I had a crush on Benji back then...when he was a skinny little nerd. I do love my Abed's.
Remember the pink hair? Oh! The Swooning...

Formspring Question #5!

Q: Do you believe it to be acceptable for a woman to sleep around if shes happy with doing that and uses protection?

A.It is not anyone else's job to judge what is acceptable or not in someone's life. Judge Not Lest ye Be Judged. What is it that book says about Ignorance again?

I don't believe that any person who feels they have to justify their behavior to anyone else is very happy about it.

Thank You! We Are Proverbial Furniture!

I get bored really quickly. I recently found out I have a 152 IQ. I don't really know what that means but I think it's average. I'm just smart enough to have all the social flaws of Sheldon Cooper without all the adorable charm of Abed Nadir. But I digress. I get bored quickly and will probably change the theme of the blog a lot.
New wallpapers and layouts and such. Just rearranging the proverbial furniture
...Proverbial Furniture. What a great name for a band..
I also rearrange the furniture in my house like once a month. If my bedroom is positioned the same way for too long, I can't sleep in it anymore. Right now I'm suffering from a (sort of common) bout of insomnia and I'm thinking that is why. At any rate. This is my new theme. Let me know what you think at HundredThousandMistakes, you can choose to stay anonymous!
This is where I live. How lucky am I?

Formspring Question #4!

Formspring asked: Do you like to dress glamorous?

A: If I have a reason to. I like having an excuse to wear makeup and do my hair and all that stuff. but 9 times out of tn you will see me out at a live show in jeans and a t-shirt. I'd rather be comfortable, over stylish almost any day.
When I'm uncomfortable I'm distracted and when I'm distracted I don't seem to make a very good impression on people. When I'm comfortable and relaxed, I'm happy and funny and make new friends very easily. So my first priority is always comfort.

Now all that being said I own over 60 pairs of shoes, an at least 3 pairs are covered in glitter. I think I have a very unique sense of style. I don't like to look "hot" I like to look classy and pretty. If I can do that in a t-shirt and jeans then I'm thrilled. If not? I think I clean up ok?

Formspring Question #2!

Formspring Asked: What do you consider your biggest mistake?

I try not to look at anything as a mistake. At this moment I'm very very happy in my life and the relationships I have. I wouldn't be here without taking the same path.
I also feel that as long as you learn from something than you shouldn't think of it as a mistake.
That is not to say that there aren't consequences to our actions. I've lost friends that I miss dearly, Through no one's fault but my own.  I've felt quite stupid, not having cut a lot of people loose a lot sooner, and allow them to take advantage of me. But to quote a cover done by my beloved Barenaked Ladies:

Formspring Question #1!

Formspring asked: Deep one. Do you find there's a stigma to mental illness? Do you base who you are around it, or are you one of those lucky ones who don't let it define you? - Anonymous

In all honesty this whole situation is very new to me. I was only diagnosed with a lot of my issues when I had a nervous breakdown (almost exactly) a year ago.

I do believe there is a stigma surrounding it. I don't believe that I base who I am upon it, but I believe there is no reason to keep it a secret. I found that when i was first dealing with the initial diagnosis, a few unexpected people reached out to me. People who I didn't know all that well but who had been living with all of the same issues as me. I never would have known if i wasn't so upfront about my issues, that there were a lot (a lot!) of other people in my life going though the same thing. Its so much more common than we realize.

I don't believe that I let it define me. I probably do talk about it a little too much. But I feel like I'm still getting comfortable with it myself. It's all very new to me as well. I don't think anyone should make it a reason to hold themselves back for anything. I certainly don't let it hold me back from being me, or doing what makes me happy. nobody else should either IMO.
I guess it's such a personal thing. I believe that we should all work on making ourselves happy before anything else. You can't make anyone else happy, when you are unhappy with yourself. if you somehow manage to, you'll resent them for being happy when you are not.

Just my opinion. Nothing to get upset about :) Ask me anything at HundredThousand

20/20

They say that Hindsight is Always 20/20.
I do not know that I will be able to vouch for that personally but I know that I have made too many mistakes to even count. And one would hope, that if I had any sense at all, I'd have learn from (at the very least, half of) those mistakes. I want to learn more, and share more as I learn it.
My desire is to share the advice of a hundred, thousand mistakes. and all the things I've learned while making them. I guess I hope it will make some difference to someone looking for a different point of view, from which to view questions and help.
You can ask me anything, totally anonymously at HundredThousandMistakes I want to answer questions and rant about relationships, love, and being happy, after being very unhappy for a very long time.
Maybe at some point I'll show you a different point of view and help to resolve something that been on your mind, for awhile.
